Let make Yuzu-Goshou at home
Oita Godo Newspaper (evening edition on September 15, 2009)
Yuzu-Goshou is a kind of Japanese seasoning mainly made from Yuzu(an aromatic citron) and cayenne peppers' peel. Recently, the center of research and promotion of household food using local raw materials in Innai town of Usa city, "Seikatsu Koubou Tougarashi", has released a new product of "Yuzu-Goshou Kit."
This product is for easy making Yuzu-Goshou at home and has got the cooperation from approximately 70 raw material producers in town, JA, and the northern provincial promotion office. By making use of yuzu from Innai town, the producing place with the most productivity in Kyushu, more people getting to know the product are expected. Besides, as Oita is the origin of Yuzu-Goshou seasoning, all raw materials are gathered from many towns around Oita in order to enhance the glamour of this prefecture; including green yuzu from Innai town, green cayenne peppers from Amagase town, and the natural sea salt from Saiki city.
How to make is very simple. Just crush yuzu and peppers' peel, mix them together and put some salt. One kit box costs 3000 yen. You can visit their website at http://www.kanamarusayuko.jp/ or call 080-1799-5511.
Comment: I am not sure whether I have tried it before but I guess no. That is shameful since I am living here in Oita. I really need to find it soon!! You, too. If you are interested, they accept orders only until the end of this month so hurry up, please! ;-)
