Beppu, ishigaki higashi- In the occasion of Matsunari Suzuo turns 100 year, on 11 September Mr. Hamada Hiroshi the mayor of beppu, as a representative of the old people institution, paid a visit and gave a certificate of commendation and the money to Suzuo.

Matsunari Suzuo was born at Kitsuki City, Yamaga town on 5 September 1909. She married and moved to Beppu. She has 5 children while running a ryokan business in Kitahama town. Everyone knows her as a kind person who enjoyed cooking and always shares her food to the neighbors. Since 1998, she moved to special senior citizen home in Ishigaki. Even she has a difficulty in strolling and making a conversation, she still enjoyed listen to the traditional folk song everyday.

In that day, the second daughter- Yamanouchi Hisako (68) - brought her children, also other involved people to celebrate Matsunari Suzuo's 100 years birthday.  In Beppu, there are more than 41 people who is more than 100 years old (33people are women).

Comment: This is such a good news! Living until 100 years is not easy! She must have been through lots of things. However, I wish her a happiness and a great healthy body ^_^ It is kind of surprised to know that in Beppu has more than 41 people who aged MORE than 100 years, wow! This makes me wonder how about other places, and the whole country Japan. How many people who are more than 100 years old??? Anyone knows???
