Economic depression increases visitors of Job Café in Oita.
Oita Godo Newspaper (morning edition on June 14, 2009)
In July, 2005, the first floor of Saiki city's chamber of commerce was set to be a job-hunting support center for under 35-year-old people, called "Job Café Oita - Saiki Satellite". However, due to the dramatic augment of visitors, the consulting corner seems to become very narrow. Thus, it is moved to Naka-cho, shopping district inside Saiki city.
The new place is 130 m². Within that, 60 m² are arranged as a computer corner for a staff to teach computer lessons. Since there is a support from the prefecture as well, people can participate the lessons for free making a rising number of participants.
According to the statistics of the Saiki Satellite, there were 450, 570, and 485 visitors in 2005, 2006, and 2007 respectively. Notwithstanding, it became 1,227 people visiting in 2008.
Comment: It sounds that this center is really helpful to them. The Saiki Satellite is doing a great job of helping people. When people get jobs, they will have money to spend. And when they have money to spent, the economics will run better, won't it?
