According to six-month period of continuously increasing rice expenditure of household plus the higher price of bread in the market, the return of the rice consumption can be noticed.
Together with the new wave of rice consumption, miscellaneous cereals and red rice have become in the focus among consumers because they include can be cooked easily by just putting into a rice cooker at the same time we cook rice.
‘S&B’ brand launched its new product on August 11. It includes ten types of miscellaneous cereals and red rice produced in the country. The proportion is white rice 23 go (Japanese unit; 1 go = 0.18L) : S&B 1 pouch (30g). Do not forget to mix them well before normal cooking.
Comment: I like these!!! Basically I am a person who loves to eat rice but I will be more pleasant of there are more than white rice in my plate. They sound full of nutrition.

The 22th Study-and-Training Guidance of Writing Kanji with Brush Pen was held at Oita educational convention hall by the education and research center of Writing Kanji on August 8th. There were 167 teachers from over the prefecture participating.
The head of Prefectural Art Museum, Mr.Toguchi Katsuyama, showed a public performance in the theme of ‘The Warmth of The Hands’, talked about Kanji’s expression, the relationship between Japanese culture’s characteristics and writing Kanji with a brush pen, then pointed that “I hope the teacher heighten students’ impression of writing Kanji.”
Comment: I am a foreigner who loves writing Kanji!!! I have participated in the relative events about twice. Even though I was no so good but looking talented and skillful people writing was really impressive for me.

The dinner box named “Wodish” which was first developed by the ‘Nichirei foods’ company and directly sold by ‘Nichirei foods direct’ has become really popular. The reason is that it includes sufficient nutrition for women in just right amount of foods with low calories. Therefore, the company can sell this product more than the expectation for 20%.
Before, products like special dinner box for diabetic patients, for people who have unhealthy lifestyle, etc. had been often produced but we seldom see any food product which is suitable for women.
Ms. Sato and members intended to create the dinner box for working women so that they can eat full-nutrition dishes even it is already late at night without any worry about calories resulting in both healthiness and beauty.
Comment: Actually, I think this kind of product can be found quite often in many places. However, it is good to have a new brand as a new choice. Want to try some!!

The 2008 Beijing Olympic Game is getting more and more exciting as it is turning to the second half. Japanese people are also excited with various competitions and the results after a long time. When the Olympic finishes, the Paralympics will be taken place in September.
From 27th of the same month to 7th of October, there will be Japan’s national sport festival held in Oita prefecture as we know. Since then, several places in Oita itself as well as in some parts of a nearby prefecture, Kumamoto, will be used as the places of the 37 kinds of sport competitions. In addition, several of them and 13 sport demonstrations are planned to open to the public.
Three days after the last day of the national sport festival, there is the sport festival for the disabled also. News reporters and journalists from each company are giving a good support. They help collect data from all places where the competitions are held.
However, this chance of being the host prefecture for Oita is after a forty-two long time. Thus, we can say that every people in charge is experiencing this big event for the first time. They will learn the whole process of data collection and etc. from the rehearsal on September 20th.
Finally, they said they want to make use of the heart of hospitality in order to succeed these two huge events!
Comment: Many times I talked about these events because I am taking part in them. I am also preparing the welcoming dance in the opening ceremony. On the real day, I intend to show my heart of hospitality to audiences, too.

On August 17, Nippon won the third prize of male’s 400-metre medley swimming competition at Beijing Olympic Game, as their second bronze medal continuously of the biggest competition like this.
For the most famous Japanese swimmer, “Kitajima Kensuke”, this is counted as his third medal since he won other 2 types of breaststroking (3 medals from 6 competitions).
Overall, Nippon got 8 gold, 5 silver, and 7 bronze medals (20 in total of today).
From the same competition, the first place was given to the United States’ team including Michael Phelps, the incredible swimmer of the year. He finally got the eighth gold medal from the whole 14 competitions as he expected and announced to the public earlier. This is newly recorded in to the history of Olympic Games (the most in the past was 7 gold medals by Mark Spitz in 1972 Munich Olympic Games).
Comment: I think I can feel their great great effort!!!!! Congratulations to those who got the medal and even to those who did not because just being accepted to the Olympic competition is the honorable thing enough in life. I am very proud of all of you.

A plateau around 700 meters above the sea level, in Hita prefecture, Amagase city, the best time of sunflower blooming come to meet again at Amagase park flower. They plant the sun flower in 2 places, all around 3000 trees. In the park, there are 2 kinds of sun flower, which are the one that has a few black parts in the middle of the flower and the normal one which has a larger black part in the middle. They are blooming confront with the sunshine. Not only the sun flower, a scarlet sage, a marigold and blue salvia are also in their best time of blossoming. The park opens from 9:00-18:00. The entrance fee for adult (upper than high school student) is 500 yen, for children (5yrs- junior high) is 300 yen.
Comment: Such a SUMMER new! This is a good new for the family who have no plan for their vacation yet. Spend a holiday around nature is the best for children. And to me, the sun flower not only means to the sun, but also means ‘courage’. When I look at the sun flower, it gave me the courageous power.

On July 19, 3 o’clock in the morning, there was an emergency call about a daughter stabbing her father from a forty-six-year-old office man’s mansion in Kawaguchi city, Saitama prefecture. The policeman rushed to the place and discovered that the man was severely bleeding from his breast and finally died.
On the night of July 19, the mother was waken up by the sound of things falling and man’s quarreling voice. As soon as she looked for the origin of sounds, she found her husband lying on the floor in the bedroom. The husband asked her to call the ambulance.
According to the investigation, the daughter, 3rd year private middle school student, took a twenty-centimeter kitchen knife from the kitchen, get into the father’s bedroom, and strongly stabbed at his breast several times. Also, his forehead was cut.
While the policeman found the father’s body, the girl was calmly waiting on the bed. And when she was interrogated, she said “I myself stabbed him.” Notwithstanding, the policeman is still more deeply investigating this case.
There were four people in this family; father(46), mother(49), daughter(15), son(12). At July 18th night, they just had dinner together at home. The wife said “my husband cooked curry.” A middle-age couple living in the same mansion said that the girl was really polite and the family looked very warm. They do not understand why this happened.
Comment: So scary… This makes me think of an animation movie called “Hikurashi”. There are so many killing scenes which I am afraid that any child who watches it often will become a cruel person easily. Therefore, I think Japan should censor or screen every too ruthless and too pornographic animation movie in order to avoid this kind of social problems.

“The Abolition of Nuclear is the Intention of Various Parties” said the Mayor

August 6th of this year was the 63rd anniversary of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima, called “Atomic Bomb Day.” The ceremony of making a gesture in memory of people died due to the bomb and the ceremony of wishing for the world peace were taken place at the peace public park starting at 8 o’clock in the morning.
The mayor of Hiroshima prefecture gave a speech that “the tragedy of experiencing the atomic bomb and the painful suffering has influenced various parties’ wish to get rid of any nuclear weapon. The importance is that we have to grasp tightly the intention of protecting the future of our children as well as taking the real action.”
Not only the domestic atomic bombed victims and families, but also representatives from 55 countries took part in the ceremony.
Concerning participants who are possessing nuclear weapons, China would firstly participate after 2-day waiting for the opening ceremony of Olympic Games 2008. Moreover, Russia continuously attends the ceremony for 9 years.
Comment: I am really sorry for the atomic bomb as everyone. It is a good news that to get rid of every nuclear weapon is the intention of many parties in the world. Wish for the eternal world peace!

The summer’s Olympic (5th) at Peking was opened on 8th, August. Summer’s 5th which held in Asia at first began in 1964 Tokyo, 1988 in Soul as the 3th. There are Japanese selected players this time which is the most ever. Kijima Kousuke as a swimming selected player and the marathon athlete like Noguchi Mizuki, our expectation is held on them. The 5th’s purpose is to enclose people all around the world by sport, around 13 billion people. Since China is the country with the most population in the world, it became suitable to be held there. However, there are many problems following by.
China force has increased continuously due to its economic growth, but had not taken continuous steps for the environmental issues since before. Air and water pollutions are being worried and claimed to be resolved, therefore in Peking, the driven cars are halved as a restriction, the operation of factories are stopped to establish the new appeal of cleaned air and water.
Another problem is the security perspective. China’s Tibet self government, from the rule that has set in March, there were noises claimed for freedom, then many people had gone in that situation. Others problems also have people who seeking freedom, people who support freedom and their job, affect on worries about cases during the 5th of Olympic period. In Peking, the police, the guards and volunteers has continued a precautionary.
From last year’s violence incident has continued until this year, the problem of Chinese dumpling which contain a pesticide, many Japanese people who ate it became death, this is one of the cases that occurred. So, there is an issue of “the food security” which lack of safety restriction. Hence, before this time of the 5th as a local participation there were more than 12 countries and Japan was also in one of the selection.
In china, Sichuan’s earth quake occurred, 60000 people died. There is no TVs, air conditioners, the temporary establishments for residence, tents were hardly found for many people. Those people can not join the fun activity, in their daily life is getting harder and need to be taken care of by giving the element needs for life.
Comment: I was watching the opened ceremony on that day with the yelling noise saying the name of my country suddenly when I saw them walked out, it was so beautiful, awesome, and fantastic more than I can put in a word and I really feel sorry if one of you guys missed it. By the way, I would say that now environmental problem is such a global issue in every corner of the world. We can not avoid it and should be more alert to make a precautionary before it is too late. For China, it is really hard to set up the rule as it is the largest country with the largest population.
