“Six-Year Rape Punishment”

          In Oita, a woman (22) was threatened violently, raped, and stolen money on her way back home. The unemployed culprit (24) accepted the prosecution at the first trial. This trial was concluded with six-year imprisonment. This judgment will be pronounced in Aug 20^th.

         The prosecutor closed the argument that March 15^thlast year, at 4:40, the woman was stabbed by a kitchen knife, threatened by violence, and stolen 18,000 yen from her purse.

Comment:  This is such a scary news. I have thought that Japan is a very safe country. I can feel freely walking along the road even at night. However, from now on, I suggest everyone to be more careful while walking alone especially at night. Moreover, my university has reported frequently these days that some sexual harassment occurs to the students who walk back home at night.
