The prosecutor closed the argument that March 15thlast year, at 4:40, the woman was stabbed by a kitchen knife, threatened by violence, and stolen 18,000 yen from her purse.
Comment: This is such a scary news. I have thought that Japan is a very safe country. I can feel freely walking along the road even at night. However, from now on, I suggest everyone to be more careful while walking alone especially at night. Moreover, my university has reported frequently these days that some sexual harassment occurs to the students who walk back home at night.

More than 30 children were encouraged to write the motto about the rule that can not ride a bicycle with 2 people on it, be careful when across the road, and can not drive after drinking the alcohol on the postcard and hand it to the association.
A fifth-year student wrote “Dear my grandmother, please be careful of the car when you walk on the road. Myself, I will not ride a bicycle with 2 people on it.” Another fifth-year student wrote “I and my family will not ride the bicycle in the very fast speed.” And he said that “I will ride the bicycle properly”
Learning traffic rules through a picture book;
The Head of Prefecture Traffic Security came to distribute 670 picture books, “Mametatou and the traffic light”, to the students. The students can learn and remember traffic rules easier with this picture book.
Comment: This is a very good idea to educate the traffic rules to the children. The children can enjoy the pictures, in the same time they also can learn the traffic rules. Learning by this way won’t make the children get bored. Moreover, it implants the children to love Reading!

The tickets of the opening ceremonies of Oita National Sport Festival and Oita National Sport Festival for disabled were drawn up on July 14 at the National Sport Festival Bureau of Oita prefecture.
Despite the capacity of 17,250 people at the National Sport Opening Ceremony, 26,790 people applied. Likewise, in spite of the capacity of 5,000 people at the Sport Festival for Disabled, 6,629 people applied.
People who already applied for a seat were randomly chosen by the computer using reference numbers. Due to the assumption of cancellation, number of chosen people was more than the capacity; 20,000 people for the National sport and 6,000 people for the Sport Festival for disabled.
Regarding those who applied for both ceremonies, the result will be announced after 28th directly to the applicants. For the National Sport, if there is no entrance fee deposit transfer until August 8, the application will be invalid. For the Sport for Disabled, sending postcard is the way to confirm the placement. If the real number of participants is lower than the capacity, a special election to fill the vacancy will be taken place.
Comment: This is the fist time for me since I have been living in Oita prefecture when a national event will be held. I also participate in this event, yet not as an audience. I am a performer!!! Really, I am practicing for the opening ceremony, very hardly because of the too hot weather and too strong sun light. However, I will try my best. Welcome you all ^^.

The brave traditional festival of “Hakata’s Gion Mountain Palanquin”, which is the celebration of the real arrival of summer, had turned to its time again. In this year, it took place on July 15 in the early morning. A large number of men in traditional (water) livery coats started carrying the huge palanquins, which overall weight was almost 1 ton, to the parade breaking through the crowd.
To inform in details, this ceremony was begun when the sky just became little brighter, at 4 o’clock 59 minutes, at the famous Shinto Shrine called “Kushida” in the area of Hakata, Fukuoka city. The parade was divided in to 7 teams. Each team was allowed to parade one round according to the orderly arrangement and compete whether which team can reach the starting line another time the fastest.
This year, “Daikoku, God of Wealth” team, who was allowed to parade first, won the highest popularity. This team had a very beautifully created mountain palanquin. Moreover, when it sang the celebrating song, the audiences ran to the nearest place and sang together with clapping their hands. However, the winner of the fastest time was “Chidai” team.
Comment: What an interesting ceremony! I wish I could go to see this by myself. Anyway, I plan to attend Beppu and Oita’s summer celebrations in the end of July and the beginning of August.
