Oita Godo Newspaper (evening edition on April 18, 2008)

Oita prefecture’s veterinary association has been enforcing a free birth control operation for female puppies (whom were left at the conveyance association) since the beginning of January at the local animal control bureau. Until March, an initial period of the program, there are already 17 cases operated at every bureau from all over the country.

According to the veterinary association, the rate people leave female puppies at the conveyance association is really low because of doing birth control operation takes high economic burden. When the birth control has not been done, more puppies will be born. Then, the number of dogs thrown away must be higher. “Dog owners’ moral is not enough. Actually, I wish to see dog owners having the full responsibility to take care of their dogs until the last” said Satou-san, an executive director.

Together with the promotion of this free operation, Oita government officials and volunteers will delicate their time, ideas, and power in a well cooperation, in order to instill dog owners about various preferable manners.

The conveyance will take place next time on April 22. Those who are interested please contact Oita prefecture’s veterinary association (TEL 097-555-9527).

Comment: This is such an event with a strongly good will. I cannot agree more!
